Youth
Events of 2003! |
Here are some of the
youth events of 2003. |
This
is our Annual 7th Grade Welcome BBQ event. It is a special time to
welcome all the new 7th graders and also play a traditional game called
'Hildiguard'. It's a great, wholesome game. It's absolutely
hilarious to watch. This year's BBQ ended with a birthday "whipcreaming"
and toss in the lake for Luke. |

This
was one of our Youth Group nights that we went out to Kayak Point in the
bus and enjoyed the beautiful setting out there with a rousing game of
Norwegian Softball and then Worship, Bible Study and Prayer. It
was a fun night. Here's the whole group by the water. |
This
was a January day that we invited all the widow and elderly to come and
get a free oil change, car wash and vacuum, detailing, fluid checks and
refreshments during the wait. It was a fun day and very efficient
as we worked together. |
Annual
Snowday - a day to hit the slopes with the skis and snowboards.
The 2002/2003 season was wet! But we still snuck in this day a
Mount Baker and had a good time. Oh, and don't forget the
doughnuts.... |
July
is the month for Family Bible Camp at Cedar Springs Camp. It's a
fun week of Bible Studies in the mornings, and then recreation in the
afternoons. Rec activities include: waverunners, zipline, climbing
wall, high ropes course, sports, tournaments, etc. The camp
atmosphere is one of the best parts. The whole experience is
looked forward to every year... |
Reststop Fundraiser |
The
District Youth Rally for Fall 2003 was in Astoria, Oregon at Bethany
Lutheran Church. We took 3 vans down after the bus said no.
It was a great trip! The theme was on Servant Evangelism and we
had hands-on projects on Saturday. Girls stayed in a hotel and
host homes. Guys stayed at Eric's house... = ) |
There
were two foreign mission trips this year. One was to Nogales,
Mexico in June. The second one was to Jerez, Mexico in
August. Both of them were awesome trips that were blessed with
fruit and personal growth as well. Click on the name of the trip
that you want to see more pictures from. |
Kayak Point |
Yep! Hildiguard is a fish! |
This
was a hike that turned out to be quite a little adventure with our tired
little bus. The bus broke down on the way out to the Ice Caves
Trailhead. We eventually made it, but John ended up running about
8 miles that day, and the bus died 3 times. What are memories made
of? |
Micah, Alicia, Brenda, Cliff and I went to the National Free Lutheran Youth (FLY) Convention in Estes Park, Colorado with 1500 other young people and adults. We worked on staff with Sound/Stage/Lights/Camera. We came up with the stage design and put it together. The week was a blast and God really blessed it. Fruit loops, Swedish Fish, 4am hiking trips, rubberband wars and travel home with individual stage letters were all part of the unique memories from the week. |
Every
year we put on the biggest, fanciest banquet that we can to honor and
show our gratefulness to those who have invested in our lives the most
in the past year, namely - our parents, prayer warriors, and
supporters. This year had a Mexican theme and it was tonz of fun! More
pictures
coming soon... |
We
look forward to the Girls retreat and Guys retreat every year.
This is a fun time of activities and fun together, but also an
opportunity to step back and refocus before entering a new school
year. Click on the thumbnails to see larger picture. |
