Brazil Trip 2001
We give God all the glory for this trip!  The missionary Abel family that we stayed with down there was amazing. We learned so much just from watching their daily lives.  We all have hopes of returning to Brazil; maybe some as full-time missionaries in the future.  Please pray for missions!
Here we are singing a song that we learned in Portuguese for a youth night.
This is a skit that Jesse and Lidia did for the youth night.
We did two kid's clubs in two different churches.  We presented the wordless book story along with a glove illustration.  15 kids came forward at each place.  We praise God for the beautiful simplicity of the Gospel.

Sarah and I with two kids from the orphanage.  The kids were adorable.  Sarah changed her plane ticked to be able to stay and work there.
This is us painting a house in the little village that we were staying.  Don't you love that shade of blue?...

...I got some on my shoe...

....whatever shall I do?....

...stop it! stop it!  and I mean it!

....anybody want a peanut?...

*smile*
Tom is awesome, but one day he decided to try to drown on us.  He got to be carried away by all those nice guys and ride in a great ambulance, though.  We're so glad he was ok.

(Beware of strong currents while surfing)
We had the opportunity to be involved in a big Youth Camp over Carnaval.  It was a great time of meeting new friends, learning more Portuguese and never having a dull moment with the schedule of activities.  A week of memories....

This was a picture from one of the nights of the Youth Camp.  This was the night of the social dinner so everyone was dressed up nice.
I loved these coconuts!  This was a roadside stand that would cut them open so you could drink the juice.  Then when you finish you can eat some of the insides.  Or you could just feel it, and smell it and hold it. = )
This is Alex doing a rappell off a mountain cliff we climbed near the ARCA.
This is us at Iguacu Falls near Argentina and Paraguay.  We are so close to the falls that we are drenched from the spray.  It was completely awesome.
Jesse and I at a small waterfall on a river.  Today we fasted and then stopped at this spot to pray as a team prior to the big Youth Camp that was coming up.  It was a blessed time at a beautiful spot, and God answered those prayers.
This is a happy random four-some.  Marcela (2nd from left) is coming to Bible School in January!  Lidia in pig-tails! And Tamara attempting to conceal some sort of mysterious black, leathery thing.
This is (l-r)  Matthew, Andrew, and Christina Abel.  They are the missionaries that we stayed stayed with.  They were so cool and tons of fun! Joanna, their older sister, is in the US right now for College.
This is Tabitha Olichevis, and Lidia with Sarah, Jesse and I.  This is one of the many pictures we took at the airport as we said sad good-byes.  Goodbyes are only temporary, though, because, we'll see each other again someday - if not in Brazil, then in Heaven!
